Colombian Seafood on South Beach | La Ventana Miami Food Experience

Explore the delightful flavors of Colombian seafood on South Beach.

By Jamie Knee

South Beach is famous for its electric energy, and it is also home to some of the city’s most flavorful cuisine. This includes standout Colombian seafood on South Beach. During Swim Week, we slipped into La Ventana, a lively Colombian favorite that locals praise for its generous plates, warm hospitality, and unforgettable coastal flavors. At 7 pm, the restaurant was buzzing with excitement. Indeed, if you haven’t tried Colombian seafood on South Beach yet, now is the time!

Inside La Ventana

The friendly host seated us right away and then rearranged our table to give us extra space. Soon after, our waitress, Jennifer, stopped by with thoughtful recommendations. Although the restaurant is known for meat and chicken, we stayed true to our Swim Week beachy theme. So, we followed her seafood suggestions.

Their seafood and fish selection genuinely surprised me, especially for a Colombian spot in South Beach. We started with the shrimp ceviche, and it tasted incredibly fresh. Even better, the shrimp were closer to prawns in size. The citrus sauce popped with brightness, and the shrimp arrived cooked to perfection.

Then we had the whole fish dinner and seafood stew, both of which featured Colombian seafood on South Beach. They were equally delicious, and the stew had large chunks of clams, muscles and seafood throughout. This is why seafood lovers flock for Colombian seafood on South Beach.

Of course, we couldn’t end our visit without trying some of their dessert. We split a delicious golden flan, drizzled in chocolate syrup… Yum Yum Yum!!

Oh, and I can’t even forget the drinks… we had spicy margaritas served in fun colourful skull mugs. Just to top it off, I tried their delicious fruity strawberry daiquiri, which tasted like it had fresh strawberries in it!

All in all, this little mom and pop style restaurant surprised me in the best way. The staff was warm, smiling, and genuinely attentive, which made the entire experience feel relaxed and welcoming. If you are craving Colombian seafood on South Beach, La Ventana should be at the top of your list. By the time we left at 8:30 pm, the restaurant was completely packed, buzzing with happy diners. Next time you are in Miami Beach, skip the tourist traps and head here instead. Buen provecho!
