Where to Sip in Miami

By Jamie Knee
Miami often brings to mind fast cars, neon lights, sandy beaches, and the iconic scenes made famous by Miami Vice. Yet the true Miami, the one locals cherish, is far more nuanced. It is a mosaic of intimate neighborhoods, each with its own rhythm and personality. When I visit this vibrant city on my luxury wine travel adventures, I find myself gravitating toward the tucked away wine bars and hidden gems that offer a taste of Miami’s soul.
Amid the swirl of sunshine, culture, and creative energy, a rich wine scene flourishes. From rustic Italian trattorias to sleek urban lounges, Miami’s wine bars deliver unforgettable sipping experiences with a style all their own.
Below are a few of my favorite stops for wine and cocktail lovers exploring Miami.

Cibo Wine Bar: Old World Italy Meets Miami Chic
Venture south to Coral Gables and you’ll find Cibo Wine Bar, a warm and lively Italian trattoria on Miracle Mile. This hotspot blends classic Italian charm with modern Miami style, creating a relaxed destination for wine lovers and after work revelers alike.
Stone walls, rustic wood accents, sleek modern touches, and butcher block tables set the scene. Their wine list is a global treasure trove that highlights Italy’s best along with exceptional bottles from around the world. From rare Barolos to refreshing whites and sparkling delights, the selection pairs beautifully with Cibo’s full menu of pizzas, pastas, artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and delicate beef carpaccio.
Whether you’re dropping in for a glass, enjoying aperitivo hour, or settling into a long Italian feast, Cibo remains one of Coral Gables’ most beloved wine spots.

La Centrale: A Multi Level Italian Food Hall with Serious Wine Cred
In Brickell, Miami’s rapidly growing urban hub, La Centrale stands as a stylish gathering place for food and wine lovers. Located inside Brickell City Centre, this massive Italian food hall offers three floors of vibrant culinary experiences.
The second floor Aperitivo Bar is my favorite stop. It feels polished and swanky, offering both classic and signature cocktails alongside a delicious selection of small bites. Happy hour runs from 5–8 pm, featuring tempting dishes like Tuna Tartare, Frittes, and Shrimp Tempura at fantastic prices.
Head up to the third floor and you’ll discover La Centrale’s dedicated wine bar, which boasts an impressive collection of more than 450 wines. The list highlights Italy’s diverse regions, from Piemonte to Sicily, and also offers beloved California selections. It is one of the most dynamic wine programs in the Brickell area—a paradise for exploring new varietals and producers.

Miami Mid-Town
If you want to feel like part of the younger in crowd with live music, DJ’s, a cool hip French New Orleans vibe, and a relaxed atmosphere then check out Lagniappe. This Mid-Town area find feels more like chilling in a friends back yard, with string tea lights, colorful flowers, eclectic furniture and self serve wine bottles in buckets of ice laid around their patio. They carry more than 150 wines from small-production wineries around the globe, and don’t forget to try their pairing of French cheeses and charcuterie platters to get the true New Orleans Creole experience!

Wine Travel in Miami: A City That Surprises and Delights
These are just a few of the wine bars that make Miami such a compelling destination for travelers who love wine, culture, and cuisine. Over the years, Miami has transformed into a thriving food and wine haven, blending glamorous nightlife with charming local favorites. Whether you lean toward glitzy hotspots or laid back neighborhood gems, Miami offers a wine bar that will undoubtedly capture your heart.
For wine travelers seeking an unexpected and exciting city to explore, Miami belongs on your list.
